Visceral Manipulation

Your organs need to move, too.

For your viscera, or internal organs, to be healthy and function optimally, they need to move. Visceral Manipulation is a hands-on therapy with the goal of normalizing movement within organs, as well as between organs and their surrounding structures. Your organs are hard at work keeping your body functioning at all times. From breathing, digesting, eliminating, walking, stretching, and bending - we need optimal motion for optimal function!

Visceral Manipulation could be the key to pain relief

Your organs are connected to surrounding tissues, bones, muscles, ligaments, nerves, and other structures through connective tissue called fascia. Fascia may be restricted following injury, pregnancy, abdominal surgery, illness, trauma, or stress. These restrictions could be the underlying cause for pain, fatigue, and other symptoms that may not resolve with other treatments.

This is why a full body approach is so important. All of the structures in your body are connected through a complex network of tissues and nerves, and they can be affected by physical, mental, and emotional factors in your life.

Dr. Alexis has received training through the Barral Institute to provide Visceral Manipulation techniques to our patients.
